Recently the Szczecin’s residential market has become stable. However, there is a number of local, domestic and foreign investors interested in buying property for residential development. In 2008 the City issued 631 building permits for single and multi-family houses, twice as many permits, compared to the same period last year.

Based on a country of origin, the majority of companies investing in Szczecin in 2007 were European companies, with 119 million PLN from Germany, more than 94 million PLN from Luxemburg, approximately 55 million PLN from Cyprus and more than 43 million PLN from Denmark.

The Szczecin Dąbie airport is located at the main transportation axis connecting the right-bank part of Szczecin with its left-bank part, between the housing estates: Dąbie, Słoneczne and Zdroje, and the large navigable Dąbie Lake. It adjoins directly the main entrance route to the city leading via the Struga, Hangarowa and Gdańska streets. Immediate vicinity of two bridge crossings over the Regalica river ensures access to the whole area through the Przestrzenna and Hangarowa streets.
Szczecin - a partner for the neighbouring communities in creating and integrating the Szczecin Metropolitan Area that covers: Szczecin, Stargard Szczeciński, Police, Goleniów, Gryfino, Kołbaskowo, Dobra, Kobylanka, Stare Czarnowo, Nowe Warpno. This partnership collaboration with the neighbouring communities will allow for developing joint spatial development policy in the area of: location and construction of transport routes, implementation of regeneration schemes, improvements in safety and quality of life, location of recreation sites, landscape protection, technical infrastructure and location of industrial and warehousing sites.
