A Szczecin film awarded at the festival in Monaco
The film "The Great Green Wall, Africa for Africa" directed by Małgorzata Frymus, with pictures by Łukasz Nyks, received the ANGEL PEACE AWARD for Feature Film.
"The Great Green Wall, Africa for Africa" is a film describing the 10-year afforestation project covering areas in the Sahel and Sahara regions (the northern part of Africa). In 2013 Małgorzata Frymus, the film's director, with the cameraman Łukasz Nyks, took a group of young people and went to Africa to participate in tree planting. In 4 days the young people planted trees on nearly 300 hectares of desert land. The idea of filming the project came from Pasquale Policastro, a professor at the University of Szczecin, who has been to Africa several times within the last few years.
The Angel Peace Award is the most important prize at the Monaco festival.
