Firefighter Combat Challenge
Firefighter Combat Challenge finished with the victory of Szczecin firefighters. It took place on Saturday and Sunday at Chrobry Embankment.
Firefighting and Rescue Unit no 3 from Szczecin was the fastest on the obstacle course. The team included: Krzysztof Krawczyk, Krzysztof Plesner and Radosław Komorek. It was ahead of firefighting team from Slovenia and the second team of JRG 3 which included: Marek Kamiński, Sylwester Łydka, Paweł Kocoń.
- Firefighters who prepared for this competition were training 4-6 times a day for 2 hours- revealed Commander of the National City Fire Department in Szczecin senior commander Jacek Staśkiewicz.
Domen Pavlic from Slovenia was the winner in open individual category. He was head of Pawel Hess from Black Horses Poland and Komornik from TFA Team Szczecin 1. The last one was the best in the category of men aged 30-39. Two remaining places were taken by his team’s friends: Krawczyk and Plesner. Next 4 places also belonged to firefighters from Szczecin.
Firefighters from Szczecin have been the best also at tandem running (Komorek, Kocoń) and just behind Slovenians during relay race. They were worse only 2 hundredths of a second (Łukasz Mazurkiewicz, Krawczyk, Plesner, Kocoń, Kamiński). Szczecin firefighters got 8 medals altogether: 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze ones.
Firefighters took part in the following competitions: bringing a hose on the top of the tower, pulling 19-kilograms heavy hose with a line, moving 72-kilogram heavy metal bar at a distance of 1, 5 meter with a hammer, slalom running with a hose without skipping and turning cones, dragging 80-kilogram dummy for 30 meters.
Currently we are ahead of next competition. -European Championships take place on 4th - 8th.Septemper at Tempelhof Airport in Berlin. Krzysztof Krawczyk will defend his champion title- informs commander Staśkiewicz.
- Next year the championships will take place in Torun and in 2015 in Szczecin.
