Next weekend (7-8 August) the sky above Szczecin will be lit with thousands of colours during the International Fireworks Festival PYROMAGIC 2010 & Music Wave – Szczecin Live.

- This year, the fireworks show will be presented by three companies – the Head of the Office for Marine Matters of the City Hall of Szczecin Jerzy Raducha announced during the press conference – which can take pride in their achievements during competitions and shows worldwide. These are HANWHA CORPORATION FIREWORKS, South Korea; FORWARD FIREWORKS COMPANY Ltd., China; and INTERMÈDE, France. An additional attraction in the form of an 8-minute fireworks show prepared by a technical manager SUREX – Firma Rodzinna [Family Firm] from Bielsko-Biała, will be performed to finalise the Festival.

The fireworks will be lit from the barges moored at Wyspa Grodzka. Each show will consist of two parts and will last 18 minutes. The first 3 minutes of the show in relation to the celebrations of the Chopin Year will be performed to the composer’s music Scherzo b-minor op.31 No. 2. The subsequent 15 minutes –will be to the music proposed by a participant of the festival.

The award for participants performing in the festival will be the Cup of the Mayor of the City granted in two categories - for the best illustration of music of Frederic Chopin and for the best fireworks show.

Similarly, as it was last year, the Electronic Music Festival MUSIC Wave – Szczecin Live will accompany the International Fireworks Show PYROMAGIC. The fireworks shows will be interspersed with concerts by artistes from Poland and abroad. On the special stage on the water the following will perform:
 

- AQUAVOICE – composer, synthesiser player, sound producer, fine artiste. The prize-winner of the plebiscite “Top Tlen 2001” on the Programme III of the Polish Radio.
- MAREK BILIŃSKI – composer, virtuoso multi-instrumentalist, writer of many synthesiser hits and illustrative music producer. Since the mid-80ties the leading figure in the Polish el-stage.
- POLARIS – composer, synthesiser player. He performs and records as SCAMAL.
- WOLFRAM SPYRA and ROKSANA VIKALUK – a new, fascinating German and Ukrainian duo who wants to surprise and win the hearts of the Szczecin audience with their programme.
- DJ Insect and DJ Samuel Wilde – outstanding figures in Polish clubbing. Their music taste guarantees great and varied fun.
