Szczecin has launched a mobile version of its official City portal www.szczecin.eu. Owners of mobile phones, multimedia players with access to the Internet, as well as iPhones, may be updated with the information put on the website.

In order to use the mobile version of the Szczecin’s website, it is enough to connect to the Internet through a mobile phone and to type the address http://mobile.szczecin.eu. In this way you may follow the news and current events which appear on the website, see the calendar of events, or, for instance, the programme of the forthcoming Days of the Sea Sail Szczecin.

Thinking about users of iPhones, there is also a version of the City’s website especially for these devices. It is available on http://iphone.szczecin.eu.

Mobile versions have been created in the Promotion and Information Office of the City Office, and the portal www.szczecin.eu is responsible for them. They are both being developed and they are to be improved. The introduced functions are the next stage in the development of the city’s websites. The website www.szczecin.eu, apart from the mobile version, has also RSS channels. Youtube, Facebook, Blip, Twitter and radio channel szczecin.fm (of the Polish radio Szczecin) as well as Newsletter.

It should be noted that for the portal www.szczecin.eu the City has received two prestigious Webstar prizes in 2009, both from the Academy and from Internet users.
