The “Rose Garden of Arts” invites everyone to the summer artistic series “Frédéric and Roses” dedicated to the artistic activity of Frédéric Chopin, which will be organised as part of the programme “Beyond time and space – Chopin’s year in Szczecin” financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

Beginning with 29 May, on each Saturday and Sunday at 12:00 (provided that the weather is fine) the Rose Garden will host open-air concerts by young people, students of music schools, and artists representing Szczecin’s music scenes.

The programme presented in relation to the celebration of Chopin’s year will refer to the creative activity of the prominent composer. The concerts will be accompanied by multiple artistic-workshop activities (among other things, exhibitions by young people from the Secondary School of Fine Arts and students of the Higher School of Applied Arts (WSSU) in Szczecin, and fine-arts workshops).

Those who prepared the project have not forgotten about the youngest. On the first and third Saturday of the month there will be a special artistic programme for children entitled “Rose’s Fairytales,” which will consist of performances, workshops on fine arts, theatre, and music, as well as workshops connected with the artistic activity of Frédéric Chopin. The summer artistic series will continue until 29 August 2010.

The partners in the summer event in the Rose Garden are the City of Szczecin, the Higher School of Applied Arts, the Secondary School of Fine Arts in Szczecin, the I. J. Paderewski Music Academy, the Music School Complex, ABCXXI - the All of Poland Reads to Kids Foundation, the Garrison Orchestra, the 12th Mechanised Division in Szczecin, the Municipal Services Plant, and the Szczecin Philharmonic.
