Concerts by international stars, nationwide contests for musicians, vocalists and musical groups, Poland’s first substantive and opinion-forming Internet music portal, local concerts in clubs, advertising campaigns and many other cultural and promotional events – Szczecin has an opportunity to take part in all these activities. The media value of all the planned promotional activities is estimated at over PLN 20 million per year.

On Thursday the 25th of February, there was a meeting in the City Hall of Szczecin of the representatives of the City, Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa (Polish Digital telephony) telecommunication company and mobile network operators Era and Heyah. The company has invited Szczecin to cooperate in the organisation of a complex, nationwide project of a musical, educational and media nature.

The projects, in its first edition, consist of numerous elements and events carried out regularly to the end of 2010. If the Municipality and Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa (PTC) enter into a partnership, a concert of international stars will be organised in summer in Szczecin and it is estimated that about 20 thousand people will take part in it.

The concert in Szczecin will constitute the finale of the nationwide contest for musicians, vocalists and musical groups. The winner will play as support for the invited star. Furthermore, PTC wants to support the existing cultural initiatives organized in Szczecin. One of the festivals is under consideration. What is more, four club concerts will be organised in the city. Taking into account the needs of the residents of Szczecin, an educational programme of a cultural and musical nature is planned to be launched.
