Szczecin is celebrating the 30th Anniversary of signing the August Agreement and establishing The Independent and Self-governing Trade Union (NSZZ) “Solidarity.” The celebrations begin on 18 August. The major events will take place between 26 and 30 August.
The Chinese were hailed the best, the Koreans came in second, and the French took the third place, also receiving the honourable mention for the best illustration to Chopin’s music. This was the verdict of the jury of the 3rd International Fireworks Festival Pyromagic 2010.
Next weekend (7-8 August) the sky above Szczecin will be lit with thousands of colours during the International Fireworks Festival PYROMAGIC 2010 & Music Wave – Szczecin Live.
The furnishing of the Museum of Technology and Communication has just started.
Placing motocycles, cars, buses, trams, and other exhibits will take a few weeks. The Museum is situated in the ex-tram depot at ul. Niemierzyńska. The historic building has been completely rebuilt and adjusted to the needs of the place.
The tourists are coming to Szczecin by water, by road and by air, on floating units, by cars, trains, and planes. Splendid events as well as the unique charm of the capital of the Western Pomerania attract them to our city.
