Wilhelm Meyer-Schwartau (1854 Schwartau – 1935 Szczecin) , born Wilhelm Friedrich Adolf Meyer – architect,
urban planner. As a city construction counselor in Szczecin (1891–1921) he had changed the shape of the city.
Among others, he designed Haken Terrace with City Museum (at present Wały Chrobrego and National Museum,
spatial arrangement and constructions of Central Cemetery, administrative building of the town hall (President’s
office of the Pomeranian Medical University), building of City Gimnasium (High School No. 1) and many other representative buildings in the city. He was inspired by historical styles and the latest engineering achievements.
Keen entomologist, founder of the first in Szczecin association for cycle lanes.
