If someone comes to the centre of Szczecin using bridges over the Oder river, can see towering over it red massif of Gothic cathedral and brightly grey, haughty figure of Renaissance castle with green helmets of towers, former base of dukes from Pomeranian dynasty of Griffites.

The Castle of Pomeranian Dukes prepares and organises concerts, theatre spectacles, expositions, conferences and scientific and popular science meetings, also those regarding dissemination of the knowledge about history of West-Pomeranian region. (see calendar of the events). Permanent proposition include among the others: Sunday’s Afternoon Concerts, Chamber Concerts by the Candles, every year Spring Guitar Concerts, Autumn’s Music Salon, summer’s Promenade Concerts as well as : International Choral Festival in Szczecin, International Festival of Chamber and Organs Music in Kamień Pomorski”. International Festival “Music in Cathedral” in Kołobrzeg. Exhibition activity means about forty exhibitions a year. Among them are: presentations of Polish and European paintings, exhibitions of modern art, photographic and historical exhibitions. In the Castle of Pomeranian Dukes you can also find the workshops: archaeological, work of art conservation, protection of cultural heritage. In the mint wing is situated the Centre of Cultural and Tourist Information.
