Szczecin feeds animals in winter
Duck and swan feeding has begun in Szczecin. In total, about 1.5 tonnes of feed has been prepared for these animals. Roe deer have also been fed for about a week now.
With the severe weather conditions –freezing temperatures and a layer of ice and snow lying on the ground – the city has begun feeding animals. Mallards, swans, and coots are fed across seven bodies of water in the city, e.g. fire-fighting reservoirs, ponds, and park lakelets. Bird feed is a mix of various grains.
The feeding of roe deer that live in parks and forests is also under way. The actions will be carried out until the weather conditions improve.
The operation is managed by the City Game Warden.
