Investment market
The number of foreign-owned companies in Szczecin continues to grow. Pursuant to a ranking prepared by the Central Business Information Centre [Centralny Ośrodek Informacji Gospodarczej], Szczecin is currently ranked sixth in Poland in respect to the number of foreign-owned companies. These companies operate mainly in the service, commercial and tourism sectors.
Based on country of origin, the majority of companies investing in Szczecin in 2006 were European companies, with 31% from Germany, 19.5% from Denmark, 14.9% from Cyprus, as well as 10.6% from the United States.
