new base of Doll’s Theatre “Pleciuga”
Under last year’s annex to the agreement, which was reached by the Mayor of the City Mr Piotr Krzystek with Janem Dębskim, the Chairman of ECE Projectmanagement Polska in Szczecin a new base of Doll’s Theatre “Pleciuga” will be built as well as modern trade gallery.
Reached agreement is profitable for the city – emphasises Mayor P. Krzystek. It is one of the first ones in Poland forms of public and private partnership – he added.
According to the Mayor, realisation of the investment by ECE company has essential significance for Szczecin because of four reasons. Firstly, will make possible revitalisation of considerable area of down town. Secondly: will make possible to build in short period a new base of important cultural post. Thirdly: will allow to gain significant financial means which will reinforce the budged of Szczecin. Fourth: will show for foreign partners current model of co-operation with present local authorities.
A new base of Doll’s Theatre Pleciuga
Building of a new base of “Pleciuga” started in April of this year. The building comes into being with modern, modernist shape, introduced into a composition of Żukowa Square surrounding. The solid of a new Pleciuga building has been designed in such a way, so that the theatre as well as possible fulfil the artistic functions, at the same time didn’t give up on functional rooms arrangement – said dr Knut Volquardsen, Managing Director of ECE Polska .
Building of a new base of “Pleciuga” will be realised within 12 months. The theatre will rise on the plot by Żukowa St. belonging to the city. Choice of location of a new base as well as specification of technical conditions of a new object in the whole took place after negotiations with the management of the theatre. Building of a new object as well as new objects which are a part of indispensable equipment for providing activity of the theatre in whole are financed by ECE company. To give the present base of “Pleciuga” will take place after the team has been moved out together with indispensable equipment (the cost of moving out will be covered by ECE company). Knocking down of old base of the Theatre must take place in such a period, so that the activity break will not be longer than 4 months. Total building period of the Theatre cannot be longer than 12 months. Additionally ECE company will intend for cultural aims realised in Szczecin the amount of 500 thousands.
Exclusive Trade Gallery
Trade Gallery will come into being in down town of Szczecin, in a quarter limited by the following streets: Niepodległości, Obrońców Stalingradu, Św. Wojciecha. In this place up to beginning of 1980’s stood well known Kaskada restaurant, which was destroyed because of fire. From that time a very attractive terrain in down town hasn’t been developed.
ECE company intends to make an order with that terrain and built on it a modern trade gallery with approximately 42 thousands of square meters of sale area. Total area of the building will come to about 120 thousands of square meters. In the centre will be situated 160 shops and restaurants. To disposition of shoppers will be approximately 1200 parking lots. ECE intends to give for architecture of a new trade centre a downtown, elegant character. With connection to former restaurant, the name of planned trade centre is “Kaskada Gallery”.
According to the agreement and signed annex the City will bring into the company connected with ECE 12 plots with the area of approximately 1,2 hectares. Realisation of the Gallery will begin only then, when the base of a new Theatre will be in considerable degree advanced and nearing completion. Annex specifies, that the realisation of the Gallery will last 22 months. After finishing the investment, the city will resell its shares on free market. Pre-emption will be having yet ECE with the highest offered price. The annex controls also issues connected with rebuilding of roads arrangement round of future Gallery. Those works will be carried out by the City, but the partner of the commune will be co-financed them up to the price of 8 million zloty. ECE company on its own cost will make also indispensable design documentation.
