On the building place of the Transformer Station for the Art
In the second half of the future year Szczecin will obtain a new place for meetings of the culture and art people. This place will be the Transformer Station for the Art at 4 Swietego Ducha Street.
Currently, old transformer station nothing like cultural object - has not the roof and the interior of the building is devastated.
The object of nearly 20 years fell into disrepair and was not used. Only the efforts of the city, while funding from the European Union funds allow to rebuild the historic building. Since 1984, the object is in fact inscribed in the register of monuments.
The contractor – the Erbud company - has the time until next summer to carry out the overhaul of the building and adapting it to the needs of the cultural object. On Wednesday, the President of Szczecin Piotr Krzystek, the Voivodship Marshal Olgierd Geblewicz, representatives of the contractor, investor, and invited journalists visited the construction site,
As intended in the facility will take place: exhibitions and trade fairs, congresses and conferences, concerts of classical music and stage performance (jazz, pop, rock, folk). The object will be adapted to the needs of disabled people. The investment will be implemented under the Regional Operational Programme for the Western Pomerania Voivodship in the area of the project „The Szczecin transformer station for the art” - protection and restoration of the historic old building of the transformer station at Swietego Ducha Street. The agreement to co-finance the task was signed on 22 December last year.
The cost of this task is equal to 16,4 million PLN, including the grant of 6, 2 million.
