All the swings have arrived
The last of low floor trams ordered at PESA in Bydgoszcz has already arrived in Szczecin. But this is not the end of the story.
The sixth of the trams reached the depot at al. Wojska Polskiego at night from Tuesday to Wednesday. It means that the manufacturer has delivered all the vehicles three weeks ahead of time.
Szczecin has ordered at PESA 6 low floor trams. Each is 31,82 m long and consists of 5 segments. These are the longest swings in Poland manufactured specifically for Szczecin. The vehicles are fully low-floor, air conditioned, equipped with inner and outer monitoring system Passengers can buy tickets from machines installed inside. Four LCD screens have also been fixed. The progress of the journey is shown on them.
Tram driver cabins are also fully computerized. The tram is controlled with the joystick and a touch panel placed there.
The design of the trams is modern. They are painted the colors of Floating Garden and have seats covered with the fabric with the pattern of Szczecin trademark.
The modern trams have greatly improved the passengers’ ride comfort. So far four swings have been introduced; they are serving line 7 between Krzekowo and Basen Górniczy. The inauguration was on the 1st of February. The first one has covered almost 10 thousand km up to now. Another two are going to start next week.
Low floor trams will also serve the 8 line between Basen Górniczy and Gumienice. The city has allocated 45 million PLN for the purchase of the trams.
