The Szczecin NGO Support Centre
The Szczecin Non-Governmental Organisations Support Centre Sector 3 has been launched. The official opening was presided over by the Mayor of Szczecin, Piotr Krzystek. Starting today, the Centre headquarters at ul. Wojska Polskiego 63 will be open to all NGOs and active citizens.
The founders established this place to support civil society through developing the potential of the existing NGOs, and accelerating the process of creating new ones. In 2011 the Centre will organise training sessions and meetings with specialists on the subject of establishing NGOs, leveraging funds for actions, preparing applications, and working with applications.
The Centre’s main goals for the years 2011-2014 are counselling and specialist consulting (accounting, legal counselling), monitoring and advocacy for NGOs (representing the interests of Szczecin’s NGOs, nurturing the Third Sector’s active participation in lawmaking), and training and workshops (accounting, fundraising, creating the organisation’s image, accountancy, and IT).
The Szczecin Non-Governmental Organisations Support Centre is a project funded by the Szczecin City Office. It is being implemented by five partner organisations, which have acted jointly to establish the Incubator: The Association of Leaders and Fundraisers, The Time Space Identity Association, The POLITES Association, The Association For the Support of Cultural and Social Initiatives “TWIKS,” and the Polish Red Cross, Szczecin Branch.
