The Stadium in Szczecin – Dąbie, with a capacity of 25 thousand people implemented within the public-private partnership – this concept for constructing a new football facility has been presented by the Mayor of Szczecin.
Piotr Krzystek presented the results of analyses carried out at the request of the city by the Investment Support company concerning the method of construction of the new stadium. The meeting was attended by councillors of Szczecin, representatives of “Pogoń”, football activists, fans and journalists. Kacper Kozłowski, a director for investment projects in Investment Support, and Tomasz Sawicki, an IT analyst, discussed the results of a comparative analysis of two locations considered for the new facility, and a multi-variant legal and financial analysis of the project.
Having looked at the location of the stadium, the city considered the following places: Pogodno (on the site of a playing field) and Dąbie (in the area directly adjacent to the airport). The meeting was the next one out of a series of consultations preceding a decision on the positioning of the stadium. Previously, residents of Szczecin had a chance to express their opinions in this regard. 9.5 thousand people cast their vote in a poll announced at the website of the city. Their votes split down the middle: 50% supported Pogodno and 50% Dąbie.
